The mapping process consist of the following phases:

• The individual fills out a self-assessment questionnaire describing his/her role and activities


• TILS provides guidance on how to complete the questionnaire


• The individual completes the self-assessment process


• TILS assists managers in assessing their staff


• TILS assists managers in assessing participants’ existing skills


• Managers discuss the results of the analysis with the individuals concerned


• TILS works with managers to discuss the desirable profile for specific “professional families” and roles
